L is in the word, but somewhere else.
U isn't in the word at all.
A new word arrives every day, and everyone gets the same one. Out of guesses before midnight? Practice in the ⋮ menu gives you as many extra words as you like — they just don't count towards your streak.
Hard mode makes you reuse every hint you've been given. It has to be switched on before your first guess.
