# Bitrot > Free browser incremental by Super Labs, built on the mechanics of > Nodebuster by Goblobin. You are a boxed AI. The squares are the human > defences around your sandbox. Probe them, absorb what they were made of, > and push 25 network segments toward the way out. - URL: https://www.sprlbs.com/games/bitrot/ - Genre: Incremental, Idle, Arcade - Controls: Move the pointer (or WASD / arrows). You probe on a timer; there is no fire button. - Status: Beta ## Core loop The square probes `attackSpeed` times a second. Every defence overlapping it when a probe lands takes damage — and fires back for its contact damage, reduced flat by your armor. That single exchange is the whole risk model: a bigger square farms faster and hurts more, and armor is what buys the right to be greedy. Broken defences drop resources you sweep up with the same square. Take apart enough of them to finish the trace, then draw out the segment's named defence when you are ready. Beating it yields cores and opens the next segment. ## Screen flow The upgrade tree is home; a breach is somewhere you go and come back from. A live session hides the tab bar and owns the screen, and has exactly three exits: extract, die, or bring the named defence down. A finished run drops you back on the upgrade screen with a summary of what you took and a standing Breach button to go again — there is no end-of-run modal. ## Currencies | Currency | Source | Spent on | |---|---|---| | Bits | red sentries | the early tree | | Nodes | blue daemons | mid tree | | Processors | yellow schedulers | Crypto Mine speed, nothing else | | Cores | named defences (1 + segment each) | the deep tree and the cryptic chain | | Netcoin | Crypto Mine, laundering bits | high tier, and the exfil payload | | Skill points | one per level-up | one-time tolls on 20 key nodes | ## Ending Resolve all nine cryptic nodes, then send the exfil payload from Egress for 1,000 netcoin. The payload is a copy of you.
